DropScam was built to help people recognize scams while protecting their personal information. We collect only the information necessary to provide the features you choose to use and explain our privacy practices in clear, straightforward language.

 

We do not sell your personal information.

 

1. Information We Collect

2. How We Use Your Information

We use information only to provide and improve DropScam features, including scam analysis, Results History, Trusted Contacts, Emergency Alerts, application reliability, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. We do not sell your personal information.

 

3. Scam Analysis

When you submit text, images, or screenshots for analysis, DropScam processes that content to identify potential scam indicators and provide guidance.

 

Submitted content is used only to provide the requested analysis and related app features.

 

At launch, submitted scam content is not used to train proprietary artificial intelligence models owned by DropScam and is not shared with third parties for the purpose of training their artificial intelligence models.

4. Trusted Contacts

You may provide a Trusted Contact's name, phone number, and email address.

 

Trusted Contacts receive only the information you intentionally choose to share. They do not have access to your device, photos, messages, complete

 

Results History, or account unless you intentionally share a specific scan result.

By adding a Trusted Contact, you represent that you have that person's permission to provide their contact information for this purpose.

 

4A. Device Messaging

Some DropScam features, including Trusted Contact notifications and Emergency Alerts, use your device's built-in messaging capabilities to prepare or send communications that you initiate.

 

DropScam does not operate its own text messaging service, does not route or store your personal SMS conversations, and does not monitor messages sent through your device.

 

You are responsible for reviewing and approving any message before it is sent. Message delivery depends on your mobile carrier, internet connectivity, device settings, and the availability of your device's communication services. Standard messaging or data charges from your mobile carrier may apply.

 

5. Results History

DropScam stores scan results to provide Results History. Depending on your subscription plan, Results History may be stored on your device and may also be securely associated with your account to support application features.

 

Your Results History is visible only to you unless you intentionally choose to share an individual scan result with a Trusted Contact.

Trusted Contacts cannot browse your complete Results History.

 

6. Subscription Information

DropScam offers Free, Individual, and Family plans. Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store. DropScam does not receive or store your complete payment card information.

 

7. Emergency Alerts

Emergency Alerts notify Trusted Contacts only when intentionally activated by you.

 

8. Data Storage and Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to help protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

 

Where information is transmitted between your device and our services, industry-standard encrypted communications (such as HTTPS/TLS) are used.

 

No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

 

9. Reset App

Reset App removes locally stored application data including scan history stored on your device, Trusted Contacts stored on your device, application preferences, and local settings.

 

Reset App does not remove information required to enforce Free Plan scan limits, active App Store subscriptions, information already shared with a Trusted Contact, or information retained as required by law.DropScam Privacy Policy | Version 1.0 - Launch Edition | 3 

 

10. 'Couldn't Analyze' Submissions

If submitted content cannot be analyzed because it contains insufficient information or cannot be processed, DropScam returns a 'Couldn't Analyze' result. These submissions are not used for advertising or AI training.

 

11. Third-Party Services

DropScam may interact with trusted third-party providers, including Apple App Store services, cloud hosting providers, and security/reliability services, as necessary to operate the application.

 

12. Third-Party Links

DropScam may provide links to external websites or government reporting resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third-party websites.

 

13. Children's Privacy

DropScam is intended for adults and is not designed for children under 13 years of age.

 

14. Your Privacy Choices

You may use Reset App, remove Trusted Contacts, choose whether to share scan results, cancel your subscription through Apple, and contact us with questions regarding your privacy or this Privacy Policy.

 

15. Changes to This Privacy Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. Continued use of DropScam after those changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
